Voice Radio are pleased to announce that they are now mobile - thanks to the assistance of the Welsh Ambulance Trust!  They have kindly donated an old ambulance that had reached the end of its service with the Trust, and now Voice Radio have converted it into a mobile broadcast studio and roadshow unit.  The vehicle is unique thanks to the eye-catching design on the cab, as well as the equipment that can be found inside.
"This is a fantastic resource for Voice Radio to be able to use, as it allows us to get out into the community and be a visible presence at events.  However, it has really proved an effective tool with which to engage young people and give them a taste as to what broadcasting can be about.

We are indebted to Tony Cowley and the Welsh Ambulance Trust for their invaluable support"
Out and About!

The vehicle is now used at many events each year, as well as regularly as part of our Literacy Projects with schools.

Voice Radio would like to thank the Welsh Ambulance Trust, and in particular their Fleet Manager Mr Tony Cowley, for the support they have shown Voice Radio.  The ambulance was kindly donated after the Project Manager, Dylan Jones, approached the Ambulance Trust with an idea for taking Voice Radio into the community.  The idea of an outreach vehicle was the idea of the young people at Voice Radio, as they felt that those who were not able to reach the studios, could use it if the station came to them.

The vehicle was handed over in June 2008, and so commenced the task of stripping the high-visibility Ambulance markings on the exterior - which took a whole weekend thanks to the adhesive used!  The interior of the cabin was also stripped down and the walls covered in black carpet.

A console has been fitted to house the broadcasting equipment, and you can find out more by clicking here.
