Voice FM is not just a radio station. We are not here to turn out DJ’s. We understand that broadcasting and all the work that supports a radio station provides diverse opportunities for those working in that environment. It is for these reasons that Voice FM can offer anyone - regardless of age, ability or circumstance - the opportunity to engage in all the activities and facilities we have to offer. Education is at the forefront of Voice FM’s aims.

A Report on the Quality of Youth Support Services in Caerphilly County Borough by Estyn (January 2007), found that Voice FM was “an example of excellence” and was highlighted three times in the report. We continue to ensure that any future inspection will see that our commitment to providing a high degree of provision remains steadfast. We realise the benefit of community radio for many reasons. These benefits have been endorsed through numerous studies.
In November 2006, The Department for Culture, Media and Sport published a document entitled “The Community Radio Sector: Looking to the Future”. It found that it was of great benefit to communities across the UK. It listed such educational benefits as:
i) Linguistic diversity for those without English as a first language.
ii) Collaborative working with schools, colleges of further and higher education, local authorities and businesses.
iii) It helped to foster social inclusion and active citizenship.
iv) It boosted feelings of well-being.
