Voice FM prides itself on being “Community NOT Commercial” and places great value on being at the heart of the Caerphilly County Borough.  We want to promote whatever is going on in your community – whether its an event, club, society, a public meeting - or it can be a means to get your voice heard about an issue that affects you or your neighbourhood!  In November 2006, The Department for Culture, Media and Sport published a document entitled “The Community Radio Sector: Looking to the Future”.  It found that it was of great benefit to communities across the UK.

The report listed the following benefits of Community Radio:

• Linguistic diversity for those without English as a first language.
• Collaborative working with schools, colleges of further and higher education, local authorities and businesses.
• Economic impacts at a local level.
• Businesses were given access to low cost advertising and able to position themselves more effectively within the community.
• It helped to foster social inclusion and active citizenship.
• It boosted feelings of well-being.
