Welcome to the home of the official radio station for the Caerphilly County Borough - Voice FM!  We are here to provide you with the best mix of music and chat, 24 hours a day, every day of the year - and what’s more, we’re Community NOT Commercial.  Community radio is a fresh alternative to Commercial radio - more music, less ads and it has real local identity (so when we talk about things, it has relevance for you in the Caerphilly County Borough).  Community Radio also means that you can become directly involved in the station - as a presenter or behind the scenes as a volunteer.  So, welcome to what truly is your radio station!

Voice FM is pleased to announce that our first paid employees started work this week!  Over the last few months, we have been working with Mencap Cymru, JobMatch, Shaw Trust and Job Centre Plus as part of our commitment to providing opportunities for employment, training and work experience.  This contributes to our objective of providing “social gain” for our communities in the Caerphilly County Borough.

Our three new members of staff have officially started work.  In the meantime, we wish them every success.  However, we would also like to thank Mencap Cymru, JobMatch, Shaw Trust and Job Centre Plus for their continued support of Voice FM.  Standby for more big news soon!

The Caerphilly Learning, Education and Inclusion Service are proud to announce the launch of an exciting new strategy between local schools and Gwent Police.  This innovative project provides opportunities for pupils to work with Voice FM, to prepare scripts and broadcast them live on air, to develop oracy and literacy skills and will be particularly effective in the enhancement of boys' achievement.

Inspector Alan Webber said: "Voice FM offers a great way for young people to contribute to and get involved in the community, as well as enabling them to develop transferable skills. The radio station was first started by PC Dylan Jones as a summer project three years ago, and has grown into a successful community initiative. This latest partnership with Caerphilly Council's Education Department shows the wide benefits that an initiative such as Voice FM can have for young people."
Caerphilly Cabinet Member, Cllr Phil Bevan said: "The council is committed to working with its partners to deliver projects that will benefit the community. Working with Voice FM to improve young peoples' skills is a great opportunity for them to work in a variable, exciting environment that may lead to future opportunities."
Listen out for primary and secondary school pupils broadcasting live on air soon with Voice FM!
